JAZZ BABIES
This is a mini-series that Charlene painted in 2007 while living in New Orleans' French Quarter. These tiny (8" x 10") painted sketches were inspired by New Orleans imagery. PIN-UP GIRLS
Charlene Lanzel is best known for her continuing series of Pin-Up Girls which she began painting in 1996. Charlene had been moonlighting as a cigarette girl and go-go dancer in New York City's hottest night spots. This introduced her to some of the most beautiful and sexy women in town. She felt they should be immortalized and began featuring her friends as the models in her paintings. The full impact of the nearly life-size figures is best appreciated in person.
